Engedi is proud to provide a variety of group programs to cater for your needs and increase your capacity. We offer two categories of group engagement: therapist-led programs and life skill building programs.
Therapid-led Group Programs
Available
Our therapist-led programs are delivered by suitably qualified and experienced clinicians to help participants achieve their goals by building capacity.
Chat to your NDIS team about your eligibility as NDIS participants may be able to claim against their capacity building budget.
Circle of Security Program (CoSP)
This program is for parents and carers (relevant for those providing care for neurodivergent and/or neurotypical children). The program is delivered by Engedi’s Social Worker (licensed facilitator of COSP) and Psychologist.
COSP is an evidence-based psychotherapy program delivered over 8 weeks (one 2 hour session per week) designed to assist parents and caregivers to:
Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
Enhance the development of their child's self esteem
Honor the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure

Healthy Relationship Program
This program is for adults living with a disability and their support workers/loved ones.
This is a psychotherapy group program co-facilitated by Engedi’s Social Worker and a worker from the Mackay Sexual Health Unit.
The program is aimed at people living with a disability to learn about:
Relationship types
Friendships – how to meet and make friends.
Dating – keeping safe (in person and on-line).
Sexual relationships – what is sex including safe sex education.
Healthy vs unhealthy relationship behaviours.

Caregiver/Child Information Sessions
This program is for caregivers and children living with a disability.
This is a program that delivers two support sessions for caregivers/parents and the children in their care.
The support session will allow parents/caregivers to spend time with therapists from our Hub to gain support and practical strategies that promote strength and capacity building for the children in their care.
Whilst parents/caregivers spend time with therapists (Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist and Social Worker), their children will spend time with Engedi’s Allied Health Therapists.

LifeSkills Group Programs
Available

Monday: Cooking Group
9 AM – 12 PM
Learn to prepare a variety of healthy meals while gaining kitchen skills, meal prep knowledge, and hygiene awareness.
Enjoy the delicious meal you’ve made together!

Monday: Drama & Discovery Group
12.30 PM – 2 PM
An action-packed afternoon exploring reading, writing, puzzles, memory games, scrapbooking, dancing, ball games, and communication skills.

Tuesday: Social Group
9.30 AM - 2.30 PM
Join us out in the community for ten-pin bowling, cinema trips, swimming, fishing, kite flying, ball games in the park, and occasional adventures to Seaforth or the Valley.

Thursday: Billy Tea Café
10 AM – 12 PM
Enjoy hot coffee, hot chocolate with marshmallows, and a variety of teas. Cake and coffee deal for $6, plus other delicious food options—sausage rolls are a favourite!
Our participants love taking orders and serving tables.
Thursday: Music Therapy & Tai Chi
1 PM – 2 PM
Rob brings music and movement together, teaching different singing notes and incorporating Tai Chi for a fun and relaxing experience.
Look out for special visits from Sisters in Song!

Friday: Arts, Crafts & Baking
9 AM – 12 PM
Enjoy beading, card making, and themed crafts. We also love baking healthy treats from the pantry.

How do I join a group program?

Check your NDIS plan for relevant funding and complete our referral form.LifeSkills Programs
Complete our referral form. Bring your own support or contact our Service Coordinator at 4942 5495 to arrange an Engedi support worker.A small resource fee applies to LifeSkills programs.
Can I use my NDIS funding for these programs?
Yes, many programs are claimable under specific NDIS support categories. Please check with your NDIS team for eligibility.
The resource fee is usually not covered by the NDIS.
